In a non-descript strip center off of Dorchester Road, Pollo Tropical is a hidden gem, and fits the bill as part of North Charleston’s eclectic ethnic food scene.
Pollo Tropical specializes in Peurvian, but serves a variety of South American and traditional Latino dishes. The grilled chicken entree is ever-juicy with a nice crispy skin, but first have a basket of yuca fries. Finish your meal with the tres leches dessert and you’ll complete the patron’s favorite meal.
Tacos, again heaping with your choice of grilled meats, are always tasty, as are the ribs.
There are items on the menu that you won’t find anywhere else in the Lowcountry, like the Huaraches, Bandeja paisa, and the Lomo Saltado.
