Year after year, Madra Rua is voted the Most Authentic Irish Pub in the Lowcountry by the readers of the Charleston City Paper. Madra Rua has been in Park Circle for over a decade and can be credited with being a leader in the resurgence of the neighborhood.
Now, a North Charleston institution, locals refer to Madra Rua simply as “The Pub.” Since its beginnings, The Pub has served proper pints and soccer is always on the television.
On Saturday mornings, bright and early at 7am, the Pub is packed with passionate soccer fans, watching live Premier League matches from across the pond.
Traditional Irish fare highlights the menu with fish and chips, shepard’s pie, corned beef and cabbage. There’s plenty of variety on the menu, including a special menu for The Pub’s weekend brunch.
