COAST Brewing Company is a family owned craft brewery, on the former Charleston Navy Base and is heralded for starting the craft beer craze in the Lowcountry. Opening in 2007, COAST has consistently put out some of the best beer around.
With their flagships, HopArt IPA, 32/50 Kölsch, DeadArm Pale Ale, and Blackbeerd Imperial Stout, and an accompaniment of one-offs and seasonals, there are beers to enjoy from the diehard Hop Heads to the craft beer beginners.
COAST’s contributions to craft beer reaches much further than what comes out of the tap. Owner Jaime Tenny led a statewide effort to modernize the South Carolina’s once antiquated beer laws, working with legislators to amend the law three times. Today, the State boasts some of the South’s most progressive beer legislation, resulting in rapid growth of the craft beer industry in South Carolina.
